Kajabi Platform

3 min read

Kajabi (the online course and membership platform) lets you add tracking codes site-wide through its Settings area. CookieScan can be installed in just a few clicks.

Before you start

You will need:

  1. An active CookieScan subscription (view plans)
  2. Your banner installation code from the CookieScan dashboard (Cookie Banner → Install Code)
  3. Admin access to your Kajabi account

The install code looks like this:

<script src="https://banner.cookiescan.com/js?id=YOUR-COOKIESCAN-ID"></script>

Replace YOUR-COOKIESCAN-ID with the code from your dashboard.

Method 1: Tracking Codes (recommended)

Kajabi has a dedicated tracking codes area that injects scripts site-wide.

Step 1 – Open your Kajabi settings

  1. Log into your Kajabi dashboard
  2. Click the Settings icon (usually bottom left)
  3. Click Site Details

Step 2 – Scroll to Tracking Codes

  1. Scroll down to the Tracking Code section
  2. You will see fields for Head Tracking Code and Body Tracking Code

Step 3 – Paste the CookieScan script

  1. In the Head Tracking Code field, paste:
    <script src="https://banner.cookiescan.com/js?id=YOUR-COOKIESCAN-ID"></script>
  2. Click Save at the top of the page

Step 4 – Verify

  1. Visit your Kajabi site in a new incognito window
  2. The CookieScan banner should appear within a second

Install on your Kajabi Members Area

Kajabi's members area (where people log in to access your courses) may need the script added separately:

  1. Go to Settings → Members Area
  2. Find the Tracking Code section
  3. Paste your CookieScan script in the Head Tracking Code field
  4. Click Save

Install on Sales Pages and Landing Pages

Tracking codes in Site Details usually apply to landing pages too, but if you have standalone pages that don't pick up the site-wide tracking:

  1. Edit the landing page in the Page Builder
  2. Open Page Settings
  3. Find Tracking Code or Head Section
  4. Paste your CookieScan script
  5. Save and publish

Method 2: Install via Google Tag Manager

If you have GTM installed on Kajabi via the tracking code:

  1. In CookieScan, open Cookie Banner → Install Code and switch to the Google Tag Manager Install tab
  2. Copy your CookieScan ID
  3. In GTM, go to Templates → Search Gallery and add the CookieScan template
  4. Create a tag using the template, paste your ID
  5. Trigger: Consent Initialization – All Pages
  6. Submit and publish

Verify the installation

  1. Visit your Kajabi site in a new incognito window
  2. The CookieScan banner should appear
  3. Open DevTools (F12) → Network tab → filter by cookiescan
  4. Confirm banner.cookiescan.com loads

What happens next

  • CookieScan scans your Kajabi site and detects all cookies
  • Kajabi uses its own cookies plus any integrations (Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Discovered cookies appear in Cookie Manager → Unclassified – categorise them
  • The banner blocks non-essential cookies until user consents
  • All consent decisions are logged in Consent Log

Troubleshooting

Banner not appearing

  • Check the script is in the Head tracking code, not Body
  • Make sure you clicked Save – Kajabi requires explicit saves
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Check the Members Area has the script too if you're testing a logged-in page

Script works on main site but not Members Area

  • Members Area has its own tracking code field – add the script there separately

Kajabi's own cookies persist

  • Some Kajabi session cookies are strictly necessary (login, cart) and should be categorised as Necessary
  • Others (analytics, marketing) can be blocked via CookieScan
  • Run Cookie Manager → Rescan Domain to catalogue them
