Is it really free? What's the catch?
Genuinely free, no catch and no signup. We give you the scan because we think the easiest way to show how CookieScan works is to demonstrate it on your own site.
How many pages does the free scan cover?
The free scan checks up to 10 pages, starting from the URL you provide. A paid CookieScan plan rescans your full site (up to 10,000 pages per run).
Will the scan affect my site or visitors?
No. Our scanner behaves like a single visitor browsing 10 pages. It respects robots.txt, identifies itself as the CookieScan bot, and doesn't store any visitor data from your site.
Why are some cookies marked "Unclassified"?
Our cookie database covers 15,000+ known cookies, but new ones appear every day. Unclassified means we recognise the cookie exists but don't yet have a category for it. Inside CookieScan you can label these yourself.
Can I scan a site I don't own?
Yes — the scanner only looks at publicly available pages, so you can use it on any site you'd visit in a browser. It's great for benchmarking your competitors or auditing client sites.
